CHILDREN'S SUPPORT GROUP
Areas of focus are safety planning, developing
self-esteem along with the understanding they are
not to blame for the abuse. Children are enabled to
articulate feelings by utilizing curriculum consisting
of age appropriate play, art activities and games.

Program offered by the YWCA of the Tonawandas. Provides individual counsling, support groups, advocacy, babysitting, legal clinic, community education, community referrals, shelter, follow-up, career & education, and parenting education.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SERVICES / WOMEN'S AND CHILDREN'S SUPPORT GROUPS
The PASSAGE Program of Family & Children's Services of Niagara, Inc. offers a 13 week support/educational group for women who have experienced domestic violence. The support group provides a safe place for women to learn from each other and to share and support each other in ways that help them grow and heal from an abusive relationship.
Also offered are children's support groups for children who have witnessed domestic violence AND whose parent is supportive and engaged in counseling as well. These groups are usually held at the same time for the convenience of the families.

KIDSTRONG
Kidstrong is a support group for children that have been affected by family violence. Program serves three age groups, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12 year olds. 10 sessions. Parent must attend the parent gorup in order to enroll their child.

OFFENDER ACCOUNTABILITY PROGRAM (OAP)
THE OAP is a 26 week program for men mandated by the court system or bythe Department of Social Services Child Protection Department. The program follows the guidelines set forth New York State for batterers programs, and serves to rpovide a service to the courts for compliance issues. The groups meets weekly. Those interested in enrolling should contact the YWCA to schedule an appointment. The program is offered on Saturday mornings - 9:30am - 10:45 am.

PATHWAYS PROGRAM
PATHWAYS (Personal Accountability Toward Healthy WAYS) is a group education program for men who are physically and/or psychologically abusive in their intimate relationships. Through an emphasis on personal responsibility, participants examine their use of abusive behaviors and the beliefs which underlie them. Men in the group are given the opportunity to learn and to practice new interpersonal skills for developing more equitable and respectful relations.
Any man can join the program. Although some men may be referred by the courts, other legal representatives, family and friends or by other counseling professionals, the initial call to register MUST be made by the interested individual himself.
While a flat fee is charged for the initial Orientation Session, a sliding scale fee based on the individual's ability to pay is charged for the Assessment Interview and Group Sessions. The groups, which meet for 1 1/2 hours in the evening, are on-going and open to new members. PATHWAYS Groups are currently offered in Niagara Falls, North Tonawanda, and Lockport.
